Position Purpose: This position reports to the ESC Early Head Start Director and provides leadership and instructional support to classroom staff, ensuring that children from birth to age three make progress toward school readiness goals. The role supports the development of social competence by promoting learning environments and experiences that foster children’s social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth in alignment with their individual developmental needs. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Serve as the primary campus liaison for the Early Head Start program, maintaining ongoing communication with the Region 15 ESC Director and facilitating coordination among staff, families, and ESC personnel. Oversee daily program operations, ensuring compliance with all Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing, CACFP guidelines, and ESC policies, and report any issues promptly. Supervise and support staff through observation, coaching, mentoring, and training; lead meetings and ensure participation in required professional development. Ensure effective staffing and classroom operations, including maintaining ratios, scheduling, coordinating substitutes, and promoting positive classroom management strategies. Manage recruitment, enrollment, and outreach efforts to maintain full program capacity and waiting lists. Foster a collaborative, child-focused environment while supporting staff, aides, and volunteers in effective practices. Promote strong family engagement by communicating regularly, organizing meetings/events, and supporting parent-child relationships. Assist families with goal setting and access to services (medical, dental, nutrition, and social), ensuring proper documentation and follow-up. Oversee health, safety, and meal service operations, including compliance, daily checks, emergency preparedness, and coordination with specialists. Maintain accurate records and documentation for children, staff, and program operations. Coordinate facility maintenance, inventory, and supply management. Support services for children with disabilities through referrals and collaboration with specialists. Participate in program events, parent meetings, and policy activities, including arranging logistics as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
