Irion County ISD is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Director to oversee the district’s facilities maintenance operations and ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained school buildings and grounds. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities, responding to work orders, and supporting preventive maintenance efforts across the district. The Maintenance Director works closely with district leadership, campus staff, and vendors to address facility needs, manage maintenance projects, and ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, hands-on problem-solving ability, and the flexibility required in a small-district environment. Primary Responsibilities Include: •Oversee daily maintenance operations for district facilities and grounds •Coordinate and perform preventive and corrective maintenance •Supervise maintenance staff and assign work orders •Manage maintenance supplies, equipment, and vendors •Support minor construction, renovation, and repair projects •Ensure facilities meet safety, health, and regulatory standards Qualifications: •Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred •Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, general repairs) •Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to work independently •CDL Certified (ability to obtain within the first 6 months)
