This position reports to the Deputy Director and is responsible for delivering fentanyl contamination training to school districts and charter schools, as required under Rider 85 of the General Appropriations Act and aligned with the mission of Regional Education Service Centers as established in TEC §8.002.The Health/Safety Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in school health and safety, supporting districts and charter schools in implementing effective practices related to emergency preparedness, hazard prevention, and regulatory compliance. This role assists with the evaluation of health and safety programs, analyzes data to identify trends and risks, and develops targeted strategies for continuous improvement. The specialist provides technical assistance, coordinates training initiatives, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to promote safe and healthy learning environments.
