Irion County ISD is seeking a highly organized and solutions-oriented Director of Operations to oversee the district’s operational functions and support safe, efficient, and well-maintained learning environments. This role is responsible for coordinating facilities, maintenance, transportation, custodial services, safety operations, and select district projects to ensure day-to-day operations align with district goals and student needs. The Director of Operations works closely with the Superintendent, campus administrators, and vendors to manage operations, support bond or construction projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and respond effectively to facility and safety needs. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, problem-solving skills, fiscal responsibility, and the ability to work collaboratively in a small-district setting. Primary Responsibilities Include: •Oversight of facilities, maintenance, custodial, and transportation operations •Coordination of safety, security, and emergency preparedness efforts •Management of contracts, vendors, and operational budgets •Support of construction, renovation, and bond-related projects •Collaboration with campus leaders to address operational needs •Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Qualifications: •Experience in school district operations, facilities management, or a related field preferred •Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills •Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to district needs •CDL Certified (ability to obtain within the first 6 months) •Bachelors degree preferred
