Irion County ISD is seeking a Secondary Math teacher who will also serve in a coaching capacity within the district’s athletic program. The teacher will provide engaging mathematics instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) while helping students develop critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include developing and implementing effective lesson plans, assessing student progress, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and collaborating with staff to support student achievement. In addition to classroom responsibilities, the position includes coaching duties that support the district’s athletic programs by promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and compliance with UIL guidelines and district expectations. Coaching assignments may include middle school or high school athletics depending on district needs. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and possess a valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate secondary mathematics certification. Coaching experience is preferred but not required.
